cutty.dev devlog #9 — launch ready, green light
T-2 minutes have passed. No new features today — just a final review and one decision: we’re launching. Product Hunt is scheduled, production has been clicked through character by character.
Product Hunt — scheduled, not improvised
- Post scheduled for June 3, 09:01 Pacific Time (18:01 our time) — a full day in the daily ranking.
- Tagline, description, first comment, and 8 screenshots (light and dark modes, in English) — ready in advance, not written on the fly on launch day.
- Bootstrapped, zero VC. I’m stating this explicitly because it’s part of the story: one person, own server in the EU.
Production — clicked through character by character
- Link creation → 3-character slug → redirect. Works.
- QR code in PNG and SVG. Works.
- Statistics only for the owner — anonymous links don’t expose others’ data. Works.
- No CAPTCHA on creation — first link without friction, exactly as I promise.
- Google login tested in live flow — reaches the Google screen without configuration errors.
Launch Day
- 17:56 — last glance to see if the page loads.
- 18:01 — Product Hunt launches automatically.
- Then: LinkedIn, groups, and sitting on comments. The only thing that can’t (and shouldn’t) be automated — a launch lives on conversation, not bots.
After weeks of evenings, cutty.dev is ready. The rest is up to people. See you on June 3.
